Mercedes in Stuttgart
Stuttgart might not be on may people's list as a tourist destination. It is definitely a business city. And few years ago still a huge building site - planned renovations to the central train station and the whole city center should be finished by 2021. But if you're there I can definitely recommend few places to see. One of them being the Mercedes Museum.
Now I'm not a car junkie. It's a machine that is supposed to take me from place A to place B, however I have a huge appreciation for the look and I love driving - stick of course, there is no pleasure in automatic.
I have spent about 3 hours there, and you can spend easily more than that. The whole building is designed to start from the top and you walk down in a spiral looking at the history of engine starting even before Daimler and Benz.
You can see in a parallel what was happening around the world. They don't even shy away talking about the factory during the Second World War.
At the end you can see the newest inventions and projects. For the more investigative minds there is a whole section on "play and learn". As I said I'm not a fanatic but I enjoyed myself immensely!
